mineral mixtures

Mineral mixtures are concentrated premixes of trace elements and finely ground minerals. They are added in small quantities to food, beverages, baby food, dietetic products and food supplements. They also play an important role in animal nutrition and in numerous soft drinks.

The mixtures consist of many components that can often have a strong taste or be toxic in their pure form. They are therefore prepared in premixes and further processed in suitable dosages. To produce such premixes, individual substances are specially prepared and, in some cases, microencapsulated to separate reactive components from each other and prevent chemical interactions. Typical components include iron, vitamin C, calcium, zinc, iodine, copper, selenium, chromium, fluorine, potassium, sodium, magnesium and phosphorus.

Modern mineral mixers should empty themselves completely automatically (ComDisc®).

The production of homogeneous mineral mixtures places high demands on mixing technology. It requires a very high mixing quality while simultaneously protecting the particles so that the sensitive components retain their functional and flow properties. amixon® mixing machines are used worldwide for the production of such mineral mixtures. They are also suitable for dietary ready-made products and cover batch sizes of up to 16 m³.
