Synthesis reactors

Synthesis reactors are technical systems for the production of chemical products. Chemical reactions take place in them under controlled conditions. Important parameters are temperature, pressure, concentration, and residence time.

Synthesis reactors can be operated continuously or batchwise. Typical designs include stirred-tank reactors, tubular reactors, fluidized-bed reactors, and fixed-bed reactors. The choice of reactor depends on the reaction kinetics, mass transfer, and heat transfer.

Basic chemicals, polymers, active pharmaceutical ingredients, and fine chemicals are produced in synthesis reactors. Homogeneous mixing is crucial for product quality and reproducibility.
