OmgaSeal

OmgaSeal^® is a sealing system from amixon^®. It is used in combination with Clever-Cut^® inspection flaps in mixers and reactors. The system is designed to meet the highest requirements for gas tightness, hygiene and mechanical durability.

The Clever-Cut^® inspection flap is cut out of the wall of the mixing vessel. The cut is made at a defined angle. This ensures that the cut-out component and the remaining vessel opening are geometrically precise. After the cutting process, a small, defined amount of material is missing around the circumference.

A circumferential groove is milled along the perimeter of the cut-out component. This groove has a rearward curvature. A polymer-based O-ring seal is inserted into this groove. Due to the rearward curvature, the seal is clamped in place by form fit. It cannot be accidentally loosened or lost, either axially or radially.

When the inspection flap is closed, the cut-out component is pressed onto the vessel opening with a force-fit connection. The previously removed amount of material is completely replaced by the polymer seal. This creates a gas-tight connection without additional sealing surfaces or intermediate components. The shape of the polymer seal resembles the Greek letter omega ‘Ω’. For legal reasons, our brand is spelled ‘Omga’.

The inspection flaps are usually connected to the body of the mixing chamber by a hinge. When closed, the flap lies flat against the inner wall of the mixing vessel. The design is free of dead space. There are no gaps or edges where product residues could accumulate.
