Liquid additives
The mixing of powders plays a central role in the manufacture of everyday products. It is estimated that powders are used in more than 70% of these products. Most of these powders consist of mixtures of different substances. Often, only dry components are considered. However, many powder mixtures also contain liquid additives.
These liquids are so finely distributed that they are often invisible. Their flow behaviour also usually changes only slightly. Typical liquid additives are flavourings, lecithins, baking extracts, enzymes, emulsifiers, liquid yeasts, oils, fats, pigment suspensions, molasses, aqueous solutions or medicinal active ingredients. The list is endless.
Even after the liquid has been added, a defined powder consistency must be maintained. The mixture should remain free-flowing, free of lumps or agglomerates. This makes it easy to dose and fill and ensures long-term storage stability. Finally, it is easily dispersible in a liquid and therefore has good instant properties.
The performance of the mixing system used is crucial for the mixing result. The more flexible the mixer, the better its operation can be adapted to different requirements. A system that can mix either gently or intensively is ideal. ... and, if possible, with varying fill levels.
amixon® manufactures precision mixers that meet precisely these requirements. They have various devices for adding liquids. This allows liquids of different viscosities to be incorporated into powders quickly, evenly and gently.
For demanding mixing tasks, amixon® recommends carrying out tests in the technical centre. Such technical centres are available worldwide, including in Germany, the USA, Japan, China, Korea, Thailand and India.
