filling nozzle
The feed port is the inlet connection permanently attached to the apparatus through which powders, granules or liquids enter the mixing chamber or container. Its geometry (diameter, inlet angle, transitions) influences the flow of product from upstream containers as well as the flow conditions within the apparatus, and thus also determines whether the product enters centrally, tangentially or laterally.
In the context of amixon® mixers, the filling spout serves as a docking point for standard bulk material containers or big bags; it incorporates seals and docking elements and is often combined with a filling valve that either seals the inlet or controls the feed rate. A carefully designed contour of the filling spout facilitates virtually complete emptying of the container, reduces dust emissions and simplifies cleaning in accordance with hygiene and, where applicable, ATEX requirements.
