End-of-line mixing
In end-of-line mixing, bulk materials are mixed immediately before transport or immediately before final packaging. This mixing process can be carried out either continuously or in batches. Typical processes include, for example, the direct filling of a silo vehicle or the feeding of the mixed material into a packaging system without intermediate storage in silos, containers or big bags.
The aim of end-of-line mixing is contamination-free production, especially if the mixture recipe changes from batch to batch. For this purpose, mixing systems are used that can empty themselves automatically and completely after the mixing process.
An important area of application is the production of mixed feed for farm animals, where small quantities of medication must be mixed in homogeneously. Further examples are the production of food supplements, which are pressed into tablets or filled into tubes and shipped immediately after mixing, and the production of dry foods such as packet soups, dessert powders or sauce mixes.
amixon® has developed special mixers that are ideal for end-of-line mixing processes. One of the most powerful mixers is the KoneSlid®, which mixes extremely quickly, gently and with high precision. In addition, the KoneSlid® is able to empty the mixed material almost completely within a few seconds.
amixon® recommends conducting comparative tests with different suppliers before making an investment decision in order to find the optimal solution for the specific application.
