cylindrical mixing chamber

It has a circular cross-section and its outer surface runs parallel to the axis of symmetry. This design is structurally simple, mechanically stable and easy to manufacture. In process engineering, the cylindrical mixing chamber is used in mixers, reactors and dryers. It is suitable for processing powders, granulates, pastes and suspensions. Its uniform geometry facilitates defined flow patterns and reproducible process control.

A cylindrical mixing chamber can be installed vertically, horizontally or at an angle. It enhances the flow generated by agitators, blades or helical impellers. Depending on the geometry of the mixing elements, axial, radial or tangential flow components are generated. These effects can be optimised by means of suitable internal components or oscillating speed control. Cylindrical mixing chambers can also be easily heated or cooled, for example using a double jacket, heating mats or integrated heat transfer media.
