Containment en
Containment refers to all design and organizational solutions that enclose powder processes in such a way that the release of dust and direct contact between operating personnel and product are largely prevented. These include closed systems, docking filling and discharging stations, dust seals, filter stages, isolators, and defined interfaces for cleaning and maintenance.
In powder mixing technology, containment includes, for example, dust-tight docking systems for big bags and containers, closed mixing rooms with appropriate dedusting, enclosed product streams, and, where applicable, additional barriers such as glove ports or flexible containment solutions for highly potent or toxic substances. Depending on OEL requirement and risk assessment, the spectrum can range from „simply low-dust” to high-containment systems for highly active ingredients.
