Big bag filling
Big-bag filling refers to the controlled filling of powders, granules or other bulk materials into flexible bulk containers (FIBCs, big bags) using stationary or mobile filling stations. These stations typically feature a big bag suspension system for the lifting loops, a height-adjustable docking head with a filling spout, a venting or dust extraction system, and an integrated scale for weight control.
When used with amixon® mixers, big bags are usually filled directly beneath the mixer via a discharge fitting fitted with an extension spout, a rotary valve and a bellows, which connects dust-tightly to the big bag’s filling spout. The discharge rate is controlled in such a way that the target weight of the big bag is achieved precisely, avoiding under- and over-filling, even with products that are difficult to flow.
