OEL requirement
The abbreviation OEL stands for "Occupational Exposure Limit" and refers to a workplace exposure limit. This specifies the maximum permissible average concentration of a substance in the breathing air at the workplace (usually based on an 8-hour shift). An OEL requirement specifies exactly which OEL value must be observed for a particular active substance or a product, for example in the range of milligrams per cubic meter (mg/m³) or even in the micrograms per cubic meter (µg/m³) range for highly potent substances.
The OEL requirements determine how tightly a powder process must be contained. They influence the design of containment docking systems, closed mixers, dedusting, and cleaning concepts. amixon® powder mixers and associated peripheral equipment can be designed to meet the required OEL requirements. For example, dust-tight docking systems, closed processing, and a hygienic, easy-to-clean design are possible to safely process even highly potent or sensitizing products.
