Filter port

A filter port is a special connection port on equipment, piping, or housings to which a filter element is attached. It serves as a defined interface between the process space and the filter, so that solids, dust, aerosols, or particles are retained while the filtrate (gas or liquid) can continue to flow.

In terms of design, this is usually a short pipe stub with a suitable geometry for accommodating a filter bag, a filter candle, or a filter insert. It is often equipped with a snap, clamp, or flange connection to ensure a secure seal. In process plants, filter ports can, for example, be arranged on dedusting lines, vents, silo roofs, or housing covers to ventilate process spaces and equalize pressure. If the mixer is wet-cleaned, the topic of dust filters and filter ports becomes particularly important.
